Finance Czar Ishaq Dar has briefed President Dr. Arif Alvi about the government’s response to early elections.
According to media reports Ishaq Dar reached the Presidency after having a meeting with PM Shehbaz Sharif in the Prime Minister’s House to meet Dr. Alvi. The economic and political situation of the country was discussed in the meeting.
In the meeting, Ishaq Dar conveyed the answer to the government’s early elections to President Alvi while various formulas were discussed to reduce political tension between the two.
The President briefed the Finance Minister about the discussions with the opposition. The two agreed to continue talks in the future.
President Arif Alvi and Finance Minister Ishaq Dar have held four-five meetings so far.
Regarding yesterday’s meeting, the two discussed the issue of dissolution of provincial assemblies, resignations and general elections.
During the meeting cooperation with Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to reduce the import bill was discussed while cooperation from the opposition was asked to implement the IMF agreement.
