Aleeza Arshad, daughter of the late Arshad Sharif, has made her debut as a reporter, following in her father’s footsteps.
Inspired by her father’s dedication to investigative journalism, Aleeza decided to pursue a career in the field.
The news of her decision has been met with approval and support from her father’s admirers and colleagues, as Arshad Sharif was tragically killed in 2022 by unidentified assailants in Kenya.
Shehbaz Gill, a leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, shared one of Aleeza’s TV reports on Twitter and wished her well in her future endeavors.
The online community has also warmly welcomed Aleeza to the world of journalism.
Arshad Sharif, a renowned journalist and former anchor of ARY News, was tragically killed in the Kenyan capital Nairobi on October 23, while he was residing there in self-imposed exile. Initially, Kenyan police claimed that his death was a result of a case of “mistaken identity.”
However, following the post-mortem examination and the subsequent transfer of his body to Pakistan, several Kenyan news sources have not only raised concerns about the police’s actions but have also raised questions about the circumstances surrounding his untimely demise.
