Dave Bautista has been a longtime Gears of War fan and is excited to be a part of the live-action adaptation film on Netflix.
The Dune actor expressed his desire to portray Marcus Fenix, the main character in a video game, in an interview with Variety.
“I’ve been looking for this role for a long time, and I think I could give Marcus Fenix a lot of heart. I would really,” said Bautista.
“I believe I could play that role well. I’m optimistic that it will come my way, and one day we’ll be having this debate in a different setting.”
The 53-year-old previously disclosed that he forwent the Fast and Furious part in favor of the Gears of War movie.
They wanted to discuss Fast and the Furious with me, but I told them, “I’m not interested. Let’s speak about Marcus Fenix from Gears of War.”
The former WWE star tweeted earlier that the movie’s producers “could give AF” about him in the endeavor. “They pay attention. They could also give AF! but I want to thank you for your help. I promise you that I have done everything in my power to make this happen.”
