Dhul-Hijjah moon has been sighted in Pakistan. Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad announced that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah has been sighted.
He said that the sky was clear in most of the areas of the country and testimonies were received of moon sighting from many cities including Lahore, Islamabad, and other cities.
Tomorrow will be first Dhul-Hijjah while Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated with religious reverence on June 29, Thursday.
A meeting of the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held in Karachi to see the moon of Dhul-Hijjah. Maulana Abdul Khabir Azad presided over the meeting.
Representatives from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, SPARCO and the Meteorological Department are also present in the meeting. Apart from this, representatives of the Ministry of Science and Technology are also present in the meeting to see the moon.
The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee received testimonies from the zonal committees, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee made the final announcement regarding the sighting of the moon of Dhul-Hijjah.
According to the Meteorological Department, there was a strong possibility of seeing the moon today, the age of the moon at sunset will be 34 hours and 13 minutes, while the city is likely to be partly cloudy today.
It is to be noted that the moon of Dhul-Hijjah has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, the hajj will be on June 27. Eid-ul-Adha will be celebrated in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday, June 28.
