Divisions within judiciary and benches raise questions on justice system, says Sherry Rehman

Federal Minister for Environment Sherry Rehman has said that the division between the judiciary and the bench has raised questions about the justice system.

In a statement, Sherry Rehman said that the judges on the bench raised objections to the suo motu notice and dissolution of the assemblies.

The federal minister demanded that the supreme court should form a full court bench and remove the impression of division and “like-minded bench” in the judiciary.

She said that even on the interpretation of Article 63, the legitimate demand of the full court bench was rejected, due to this decision, one party benefited and the division in the court came out in the open.

“Once again the honorable judiciary needs to remove its divided and controversial impression,” Sherry added.
