Man kills wife, injures himself with blade

A double murder was committed in Satukatla on Tuesday, with a man and his son shooting dead the former’s father and step-sister over a property dispute.

Deceased Ghulam Hussain was going to drop his daughter off at school when his son and grandson came on a motorcycle and hit him on the way. The accused started firing on his car and killed his father and step-sister before fleeing. Police lodged an FIR against the accused under sections 302 and 34PPC on behalf of the deceased’s brother Khalid Hussain. According to the FIR, the deceased’s son Imran Hussain and grandson Adnan Imran are nominated in the case along with two unidentified persons.

The police said they have shifted the bodies to the morgue for post-mortem and started conducting raids to arrest the accused. According to the preliminary investigation, the deceased Ghulam Hussain had two marriages and had a property dispute with his son Imran Hussain.

Inspector General Police Punjab Faisal Shahkar has taken notice of the incident and has sought a report from CCPO Lahore. He directed the formation of a special team to arrest the murderers and said that they should be traced and arrested immediately with the help of Safe City cameras. In another incident, a 50-year-old man killed his wife and injured himself with a sharp blade over a minor dispute in Hanajrwal policy limits. Police shifted the body of the deceased to the morgue for autopsy while the accused is under treatment at a hospital.
