In Russia’s Pskov region, near the border with Belarus, a destructive explosion took place at an administrative building of an oil pipeline, caused by an attack involving two drones, as stated by local Governor Mikhail Vedernikov on the messaging app Telegram on Saturday.

Vedernikov refrained from explicitly accusing Ukraine, although Moscow has previously attributed similar incidents, some resulting in harm to individuals and property situated hundreds of kilometers away from the Ukrainian border, to Kyiv.

Ukraine had not publicly admitted responsibility for launching attacks on Russian territory, but high-ranking officials in Kyiv have occasionally appeared to express satisfaction at the news of successful drone assaults within Russia.

Ukraine did not offer an immediate response on Saturday.

“Preliminarily, the building incurred damage due to an assault by two unmanned aerial vehicles,” Vedernikov conveyed.

He confirmed that there were no casualties and that an investigative team was present at the site to provide final conclusions.

The occurrence transpired close to the village of Litvinovo, which is situated less than 10km (6.2 miles) from the Russian border with Belarus.
