Drug suppliers’ gang busted near Larkana

Dokri Police on Friday claimed to have arrested members of a gang of drug suppliers near Larkana.

The accused include Qurban Ali, son of Rind Ali Dahani, resident of Garhi Yasin (Shikarpur District) and Mujeeb-ur-Rahman, son of Aziz-ur-Rahman Arbani of Ratodero (Larkana District).

During checking, 5.50 kg hashish, 24 grams of ice and 84 grams of heroin were recovered from their possession, police said. Three FIRs were registered against them, one under section 9 CCNS and two under section 9 ACNS. Police said that they were supplying drugs to dealers in Dokri and its surrounding areas and all the people who were in contact with them were also being tracked down for further probe. They are also being interrogated for other drug dealers and purchasers, the cops further claimed.

In another incident, Market police arrested Sajid Chandio son of Shaman Chandio, resident of Warah Taluka of Kambar-Shahdadkot district, when he was standing on Khakhrani bypass with the alleged intention of committing a crime. One pistol without an arms license was also recovered from his possession. Two FIRs under sections 401, 324, 351, 148, 149 and 24 SAA were lodged against him at the Market police station on the application of ASI Ayaz Shahani.

In the self-accountability process against the black sheep in the police department, SSP Imran Qureshi, took departmental action and awarded different punishments to 34 ASIs including 15 Investigation Officers (IOs). The IOs include of Bakapur police station, Market, Veehar, Mahotta, Ali Goharabad, Civil Lines, Waris Dino Machi, Sachal, Illahi Bux Siyal, Dhamrah, Lashari, Hyderi, Taluka and Dokri police stations which include ASIs Irfan Ali Mithani, Noor Ahmed Magsi, Hameed Mugheri and others. Censure, stoppage of annual increments and fines were also imposed on them, the police claimed, to improve their performance.
