ECP asks Imran Khan to submit written response for violating code

ECP directed PTI Chairman and former prime minister Imran Khan to provide a written response in the case that the NA-45 by-election’s code of conduct was violated.

On Tuesday, according to details, the hearing on the alleged breach at the Kurram by-elections was presided over by the chief election commissioner, and Imran Khan was represented by counsel.

Member of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ikramullah Khan took a jab at Imran Khan’s absence by asking his attorney Barrister Gohar “if Imran Khan will ever come to us”.

Barrister Gohar said, “Indeed, with God’s help, he will appear, but this is not a summoning case.”

The CEC said that this is not a matter of the commission being defamed, but rather a violation of the code of conduct. It has become crucial to send the letter of attorney after Barrister Gohar requested extra time to submit the affidavit and respond.

Member K-P responded that Imran had already rejected the affidavit in the Supreme Court.

The Election Commission asked Imran to file a written response before the hearing was adjourned until November 7.
