The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has said that the elections of the Punjab Assembly deemed “clearly impossible” on May 14.

In this case, the Supreme Court has received three reports from the Election Commission.

According to the Election Commission, holding provincial elections on the specified date is impossible.

On the other side, no date has been set by the Supreme Court for further consideration of the matter.

The required preparations cannot be finished by the deadline, and the election postponement or cancellation will be notified during the next week, a media report has claimed.

Election Commission has not been ordered to appear before the Supreme Court again.

Elections for the Punjab Assembly will take place on May 14 according to a ruling made by a three-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Umar Ata Bandial, on April 4 of last month.
