ECP gives PTI two weeks to respond in prohibited funding case

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has been asked to respond by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in the issue of the prohibited funding seizure case.

On Tuesday, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja presided over the hearing to seize PTI’s prohibited funding.

PTI’s attorneys in the matter Anwar Mansoor Khan and Shah Khawar, both chose not to attend today’s ECP hearing, with the former having commitments at the Supreme Court.

Anwar Mansoor Khan’s assistant appeared before the ECP and requested four weeks to provide a response and any necessary supporting documentation.

The CEC questioned the attorney if all of the materials for the case have already been submitted by PTI, why did they need more time?

He replied, “We have sought documents from the PTI foreign chapter in the case because many things needed to be explained as per the ECP’s order in the PTI prohibited funding case.”

CEC Sikandar Sultan Raja gave PTI two weeks to submit its documentation and adjourned the hearing till September 6.
