The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has announced local body elections will be held in 16 districts of Sindh in the second phase for which preparations were underway.
The ECP has appointed returning officers, assistant returning officers, and deputy returning officers in this regard, in 16 districts of the Karachi and Hyderabad divisions.
The ROs included higher officials of the revenue and education department; however, district commissioners have been given the charge of RO in eight of the nine districts of the Hyderabad division. The transfer of government officials would be subject to the permission of the ECP.
