ECP suspends arrest warrants of Asad Umar, Imran Khan, and Fawad Chaudhry

The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday has suspended the arrest warrants issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry and Asad Umar.

Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan of the Lahore High Court (LHC) Rawalpindi bench heard the petition seeking the suspension of arrest warrants issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) against Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry.

The court suspended the arrest warrants of Imran Khan and Fawad Chaudhry on behalf of the Election Commission and ordered the Election Commission to continue the hearing of the contempt of the election commission.

Justice Sadaqat Ali Khan said that the judiciary takes decisions based on law and justice.

He added that they also take relief from the judiciary and also target the courts in the media.

The judge further said that if Fawad Chaudhry targets the courts next time in the media, contempt of court action will be taken against him.

“Fawad Chaudhry put all the responsibility of corruption on the courts in international media and now the court is giving you relief, go and tell Fawad Chaudhry not to put all the responsibility on the courts, Fawad Chaudhry whenever he talks to the media, he blames the courts. Enough is enough the court will not tolerate it now,” Justice Sadaqat said.
