The Secretary General of Ruet-e-Hilal Research Council Khalid Ejaz Mufti has said that the Eid-ul-Fitar will be observed on Saturday, April 22.
He said that the moon of the ‘Shawal’ won’t be visible on April 20 evening but it will be after 30 days of the month of Ramadan will have been completed.
According to him, the new moon will be born on April 20 at 9:13 am local time, meaning that it will be less than 10 hours old.
Even if the weather is clear on that day, the moon won’t be visible, he said, because the age of the moon must be greater than 19 hours to be visible.
He said that since April 22 would be the first Shawwal and April 21 will be the last day of Ramadan, any proof received on April 20 in the evening will be fraudulent.
