DIG Operations Sohail Chaudhry takes prompt notice of violent beating; rescues children, arrests culprits

Home owners from a private housing society brutally tortured their two minor domestic workers for cooking food improperly, according to police officials in the Sattoo Katla area of Lahore.

The owners unleashed grave violence against the domestic helpers who were siblings. After the incident was reported, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Sohail Chaudhry noticed the incident and the police rescued the two minor employees.

According to police officials, the two children were employed at a house in a private society. After receiving the call, the police responded immediately and took the children to the nearest hospital for first aid.

Exclusively talking to Minute Mirror, Chaudhry said, “all the expenses of the treatment would be borne by Lahore Police and the accused involved in child abuse are arrested. The police also have the custody of witnesses.”

Greentown police have remanded the accused in custody and have registered a case. The accused have been handed over to the Investigation Wing for further probing.

“Further action would be taken under provisions after receiving the medical report,” said Chaudhry.

Meanwhile, a team from the child protection department took the children into custody. Speaking to Minute Mirror, Chairperson Child Protection Bureau Sarah Ahmed said, “the owner of the house smeared the body of the child with a hot pot and cut off the girl’s hair”.

She also revealed that the children’s parents were in Multan and were facing charges for pushing their children into child labor.
