Released to coincide with the original film’s 19th anniversary, the teaser promises an emotional continuation packed with even more intensity, action and drama than its predecessor.
The newly released clip finds Shivam still struggling to move on from Aaliyah’s death, with Hashmi narrating his character’s emotional state through an introspective voiceover. The teaser opens on a sombre note as Shivam reflects, “Kuch logon ki kahaniyan unki marzi se khatam nahi hoti. Unki kahani doosron ke liye likhi jaati hai,” meaning some people’s stories do not end on their own terms, since their stories are written for others.
The montage that follows captures Shivam’s grief through scenes at Aaliyah’s grave, alongside appearances from Disha Patani playing the harp and Shabana Azmi’s watchful presence, woven together with gritty fight sequences. Hashmi delivers the line, “Dard se purana rishta hai mera,” meaning he has a long standing relationship with pain. The teaser closes on a dramatic note, with a bruised and bloodied Shivam looking directly into the camera and declaring, “Is baar ya to ye awaarapan khatam hoga, ya main,” meaning this time, either his aimless wandering will end, or he will.
