England defeated India by 10 wickets by chasing down the total in a one-sided encounter played at Adelaide on Thursday.

English Captain Jos Butler played a captain knock of 80* along with stylish opening batter Alex Hales who played blistering innings of 86*.

Earlier, India recovered from a rough start to post 168-5 against England in the second T20 World Cup semifinal thanks to the fifties from Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya.

India was put in to bat and after a sluggish start in which the opener KL Rahul was gone early but Kohli managed to keep the innings together and hammer his fourth fifty of the competition. However, it was Pandya’s brilliant knock that helped India reach this target.

England will play Pakistan in the finals of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 at Melbourne Cricket Ground on Sunday.

Pakistan and England last faced each other in the final of an ICC event in the 1992 ODI world cup where Pakistan won to lift the first-ever trophy in the country’s history.

Pakistan qualified on Wednesday after defeating New Zealand in the first semifinal on Wednesday by seven wickets.
