Justice Qazi Faez Isa, nominated Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP), has said that the work of judges is no different from that of journalists. “This is the message for everyone, including journalists and judges, to stop lying,” he added.

Addressing the ceremony in Islamabad, Justice Qazi Faez Isa said that according to the constitution, access to information is the fundamental right of every citizen; responsible journalism is the need of the hour.

He said that journalists collect information so that they can reach the people ahead, some good things come out in it and some bad.

He said that the work of judges is not different from journalists, both of us go out in search of truth, judges run under the scope of the constitution and law, people have different opinions about justice, but the truth remains true, opinion can be disputed, no one can disagree with the truth.

Qazi Faez Isa said that no one becomes a journalist just by picking up the camera or coming on TV, a journalist is the one who does research and the importance of truth has also been emphasized in the Holy Quran and the holy books before it.

He said that the message for every human being, including journalists and judges is to stop lying, speak only the truth. He further said that lying is a very difficult task.
