Explosions in Kyiv and other Ukrainian cities

Russia has fired more than 100 missiles into Ukraine especially targeting the capital Kyiv.

According to authorities, three people were wounded in Kyiv whereas, the northeastern city of Kharkiv and other cities also faced heavy aerial bombardment.

According to the Ukrainian Air Force, the attacks, which came after a kamikaze drone attack overnight, involved both sea- and air-based cruise missiles fired in several locations.

A presidential adviser Mykhailo Podolyak estimated that more than 120 missiles were fired as all around Ukraine air raid sirens were heard.

The Kyiv city military administration said, “Two private houses in the Darnytskyi district were damaged by the fragments of downed missiles.”

Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kiyv, claimed that 16 missiles were shot down over the city whereas, Ihor Terekhov, the mayor of Kharkiv, stated that after a series of blasts were triggered by the Russian missiles, officials were determining what had been hit and whether any casualties had occurred.

Andriy Sadovyi, the mayor of Lviv in western Ukraine, posted on Telegram that 90% of his city was without electricity and that electric-powered public transportation was not operating.

Moreover, Zhytomyr and Odesa both heard explosions.

Governor of Odesa region Maksym Marcheno that air defense shot down 21 missiles.

He also added that in Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk power was cut to minimize potential damage.
