Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that it was now writing on the wall that Punjab elections could not be held within 90 days.
When the order of the National Security Committee’s (NSC) three-member bench was queried about, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah responded in the affirmative. He didn’t respond directly to this with anything in particular.
However, the Interior Minister, speaking with private TV channel, asserted that in the absence of a Supreme Court order, the judgment that should be supported and obeyed is Justice Athar Minallah’s thorough ruling, which makes everything obvious. He said that it could not be put into action.
Rana Sanaullah suggested that the Election Commission should also rethink its decision to hold elections in Punjab in light of Justice Athar Minallah’s dissenting note.
He continued by saying that the Punjab Police lacks the competence to handle elections if the army is not present for them.
