Fawad Chaudhry warns PML-N against raiding Imran Khan’s Bani Gala home

Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry warned the government against raiding Imran Khan’s Bani Gala home, saying the homes of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders were also “within arm’s reach” and that any such action would be met with a similar response.

He claimed that any action taken by the federal government against the PTI will worsen the economy and lead to a crisis.

He said, “We do not want to take to the streets. If the PTI starts a street movement, the government will not last five days and added that right now they only wanted fresh elections without any discord.”

He challenged Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman to contest against Imran Khan in elections so that it could be determined who the more popular leader was.

In response to a question, he stated, “We are ready to talk to the government once it announces a date for the new elections. We are ready to deliberate with the government on the election framework.”

Speaking about the PTI’s power display in the provincial capital of Lahore, he stated that Imran Khan will reveal the party’s strategy for his “Haqeeqi Azadi” movement.

He said the Punjab government will investigate incidents of police brutality against the PTI workers and the general public on May 25, during the PTI’s long march.

Fawad emphasized that the party has already sent a letter to the Punjab government requesting that it conduct an investigation into the event within 15 days. The investigation will also focus on Atta Tarar and Federal Interior Minister Rana Sannaullah.
