Fawad rubbishes news about Nisar ordering not to release PML-N leaders

Journalist Ansar Abbasi reported that GB judge heard former SC CJ issuing High Court judge directions about Nawaz, Maryam bail

Federal Information and Broadcasting Minister Fawad Chaudhry has criticised allegations put forth in journalist Ansar Abbasi’s story regarding former Supreme Court chief justice Saqib Nisar ordering a High Court judge not to release Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz supreme leader Nawaz Sharif and Vice President Maryam Nawaz before elections on bail and termed them a ‘joke’ to prove Nawaz Sharif as oppressed.

The statement came after a news report by journalist Ansar Abbasi was published on Monday wherein it was revealed that a former chief justice of Gilgit-Baltistan had said that he heard former Supreme Court chief justice Saqib Nisar as telling a High Court judge that PML-N leaders Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz must not be released from jail until the 2018 General Elections were over.

Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry shared the content of the news in a tweet and stated that jokes were being made under a campaign to prove Nawaz Sharif as oppressed. He raised questions on how the Supreme Court chief justice could discuss such a thing in front of another judge over tea.

He added that instead of coming up with ‘silly stories’ and ‘conspiracy theories’, [we should be informed] about where Nawaz Sharif received the money for Avenfield Apartments which later came in the possession of Maryam Nawaz.
