Pakistan Democratic Movement (PMD) head and Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that PTI Chairman Imran Khan and President Dr. Arif Alvi should resign from the party following the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP’s) verdict on the PTI’s prohibited funding case.

The Election Commission of Pakistan on August 2 had announced its verdict on the prohibited funding case, saying that the party had accepted such funds, with donations being received from US, Canada, Australia and UAE.

The ECP had said in its verdict that the party received funds from 34 individuals and 351 businesses and companies.

While addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Maulana Fazl said that not only Imran Khan was a criminal, but his whole party consisted of criminals.

The JUI-F chief stated that all coalition parties had urged the ECP to take action against the PTI and those involved.

The PDM leader said that members should be apprehended and the four employees who received the funding should face investigation.

Maulana Fazl said that this was a matter of survival of the state and everyone should unite to save the country.

He also said that the ECP verdict proved that PTI chairman was a “foreign agent with a foreign agenda”.

Maulana Fazl said that the ECP did not back down despite Imran Khan’s blackmail, adding that the institution’s facts could not be ignored.
