The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested ten people for running social media trends against important personalities and agencies of Pakistan.

According to the details available, the FIA ​​conducted raids in different cities on the issue and arrested two accused from Lahore, eight from Gujrat and Faisalabad. FIA sources told that over 50 people were operating hundreds of fake accounts. They added that several accounts were being operated from abroad.

A meeting was held at the FIA ​​headquarters on the campaign against the judiciary and military authorities. Director Cyber ​​Crime said that the accused were campaigning on social media against the judiciary and military authorities. It was stated in the briefing that so far 50,000 pages involved in the campaign had been shortlisted. Raids were being carried out for more arrests and most of the pages were being operated from India.

Sources said that an investigation was underway into the accounts and pages that spread hateful content on social media. The number of accounts spreading hate speech was being ascertained and action would soon be taken against those who were conducting anti-judicial campaigns, they added.
