Islamabad session court granted the Federal Investigation Agency one day remand of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday in the cipher case.
Judicial Magistrate Ehtisham Alam Khan gave orders, asking the body to produce Qureshi before the court on Monday.
He has served as foreign minister under former prime minister Imran Khan and currently is the vice chairman of the PTI.
He was arrested in the Islamabad on Saturday evening.
Talking with reporters before being sent on remand, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said no secret code of Pakistan has been compromised.
“I have not shared any document with any unrelated person,” he said, insisting on always saving Pakistan’s interests and never ever compromising on them.
He denied being part of any conspiracy. “This is a politically motivated case.”
Qureshi stated that his conscience is clear and he always done the right thing.
