FIA summons PTI leader Asad Qaisar for inquiry on prohibited funding case

Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has summoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader and former speaker of national assembly Asad Qaisar for inquiry on the prohibited funding case.

The notice sent to the PTI leader has directed him to appear before the inquiry team and submit his reply in connection with the two bank accounts. The notice has stated that according to the decision in the Akbar S Babar case Asad Qaisar is connected with opening two bank accounts and running them.

Asad Qaisar has been directed to appear in the FIA Khyber Pakhtunkhwa office by an inquiry officer of FIA Peshawar.

FIA has started the investigations against the leaders of PTI and other officials after the decision of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on the prohibited case.

ECP had in its decision announced that there were discrepancies in more than a dozen bank accounts; according to which PTI had received funds from prohibited means. Several bank accounts of PTI were operated by its leaders in different cities and an investigation has been started in that regard.
