Three people including two women were killed while one was injured in a shooting incident inside a passenger van in Hangu.
District Police Officer Asif Bahadur told the media that a man had opened fire in anger following a quarrel between the passengers in the van. He said that the incident occurred in the Shinwari area of Hangu while the accused managed to flee.
The DPO said that the area had been cordoned off after the incident and a search operation was launched to arrest the accused. The cause of the attack was not immediately known, he added.
Deputy Medical Superintendent DHQ Hospital Hangu confirmed the death toll and said the injured were undergoing treatment.
On the other hand, three people were killed when unidentified people opened fire on a vehicle in Mir Ali tehsil of North Waziristan.
One of the killed has been identified as Karam Khan. The process of verifying the remaining two bodies was underway, the vehicle was set on fire after the firing.
