Forces kill eight terrorists, attempt to ambush convoy foiled, says ISPR

Terrorists tried to ambush the troops’ convoy, but alert and combat-ready forces stopped the cowardly attempt, statement

Security forces have prevented an attempt to ambush a convoy of troops, as per Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

It also added that eight terrorists were killed in the subsequent operation in the Kech district of Balochistan.

Terrorists allegedly attempted to ambush a convoy of security troops on February 22 in the evening. A follow-up operation to find the terrorists utilizing ground and aircraft assets were also launched after combat-ready forces stopped the despicable attempt without any loss of life, the statement added.

As a result, a sanitization operation was started at a suspected terrorist hideaway in Mazaaband Range on the morning of February 23.

ISPR said, “There was a strong exchange of fire that resulted in the deaths of eight terrorists. A significant amount of weapons and ammunition including explosives were also found.”

The event occurred as terrorist activities increased across the nation, particularly in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan since the outlawed Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) broke the government’s ceasefire in November.
