Gas crisis intensifies in Lahore

The gas crisis has intensified in Lahore. As the cold increased gas started disappearing from different areas.

Gas disappeared in many areas of Lahore city due to which people in houses, tandoors and hotels were all worried.

Due to the non-availability of gas people have been forced to bring food from the market. Due to non-supply people were buying expensive LPG and wood. The price of wood has reached Rs1400 per 40 kg and the price of LPG has reached 240 per kg.

Earlier it was proposed to give gas to domestic consumers three times during mealtimes. Providing gas to domestic consumers was kept the top priority.

The gas shortfall of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Pipelines Limited (SSGPL) could further increase to 1.2 billion cubic feet. It has been proposed to give LNG up to 350 mmcfd to domestic consumers.

According to a media report quoting petroleum division officials, it has been proposed to stop the supply of gas to commercial consumers from November 1 and shift commercial consumers to LNG. But so far the shortfall of gas has been on the increase.
