Gas supply suspended in few areas of Peshawar

Gas service was cut off in certain areas of Peshawar after the main supply line caught fire near Chamkani on the city’s outskirts on Saturday.

The origin of the fire was not immediately apparent when police and representatives of Sui Gas arrived at the scene.

According to a statement released on Saturday, Sui Northern Gas Pipeline Limited (SNGPL) has stopped supplying gas to a number of locations because the gas supply line on GT Road at Chamkani Flyover needs emergency repair work. Localities along the GT Road from Tarnab to Hashtnagri, the old walled city, Ring Road, and Peshawar Cantonment, including the governor house, chief minister house, Saddar, Shami Road, Dalzak Road, and Charsadda Road, are among the locations where the flow of Sui gas was halted.

The supply line is undergoing expedited repairs, the company claims, and the supply will be restored as soon as feasible.

In order to prevent any unfortunate incidents during the gas suspension period, consumers have been instructed to keep all gas appliances off.

.It should be noted that consumers in the province are already subject to ad hoc gas load shedding, which forces them to utilise LPG cylinders and firewood.
