Gen Bajwa asks us to support PTI in NCM: Moonis Elahi

PML-Q leader Moonis Elahi disclosed that former army chief General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa had encouraged them to support PTI when the vote of no-confidence was brought against former prime minister Imran Khan.

In an interview with a private TV channel, Moonis said that both the PTI and the PDM had made proposals to them, but that Gen. (ret.) Bajwa had urged them to back the Imran Khan-led party.

“Some individuals are active on social media criticizing Bajwa without cause. This is the same Bajwa who directed everything to the PTI’s advantage. Previously, Bajwa was correct, but not any longer. Those who are currently speaking against him and I completely disagree,” Moonis remarked.

The PML-Q leader continued by saying that he had a preference for PTI and had talked about it with his father as well.

Regarding the dissolution of assemblies, Moonis stated that his party believed that since Khan’s popularity was at its highest at the time, general elections should be held as soon as feasible. This is advantageous for the PTI and its allies, he continued.

After the dissolution of the assemblies, he said that if only Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa conducted elections, they would win a larger majority for the following five years.

Moonis claimed that everyone is aware of the judiciary’s neutrality. They had no communication with the new establishment, he claimed.

The PML-Q leader asserted that he believes the establishment when it claims to not influence politics because they have no impact on the Punjab government.
