Germany faces severe drugs shortage

Pharmacies all over Germany are still struggling as the country’s drug supply issue spikes and things might not get better any time soon.

As per Anadolu Agency, the pharmacy industry had been facing great difficulties in the supply of drugs lately, particularly for the last three or four months.

As per Pharmacists, the drug shortage will last for a very long time. There is a big problem with the supply of drugs such as antibiotics, painkillers, antipyretics, children’s antibiotics, and stomach protectors.

Approximately 80% of the drugs consumed in Germany are comparable medications made in nations like China and India.

According to the German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices; Antibiotics, diabetes, cancer, and painkiller medications are among the medications that are currently unavailable.

German Federal Institute for Drugs and Medical Devices named the shortage of medications from China and India as the primary cause of the shortage.

Head of the German Medical Association Klaus Reinhardt, called on the public to help each other through cooperation.

Reinhardt added that there is a need for a sort of drug exchange akin to a flea market because unutilized medications in people’s medicine cabinets can be used by others.
