Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif has congratulated advocate Supreme Court (SC) Ahsan Bhoon of the Independent Group for claiming a landslide victory in the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections and termed it a good signal for the countryâs struggle for âconstitutional supremacyâ.
In a tweet on Thursday, the Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) supreme leader congratulated Ahsan Boon on the âlandslide victoryâ in SCBA elections. He stated that Bhoon winning the SCBA presidential seat signalled good fortune for the countryâs struggle for âconstitutional supremacyâ.
Sharif added that the Asma Jehangir Group (formally known as the Independent Group), always strove for restoration of democratic values.
Congratulations to Mr Ahsan Bhoon & panel on landslide victory in SC Bar Elections. It bodes well for the national struggle for supremacy of constitution. The success of Asma Jehangirâs group symbolises the resolve of legal fraternity to never compromise on democratic principles.
