Interior, foreign secretaries and IG Islamabad brief more than 100 diplomats at Foreign Office

The government has assured foreign diplomats in Islamabad that the federal capital had strong security measures in place and that visitors could travel freely.

More than 100 diplomats including ambassadors attended the briefing at the Foreign Office on Friday where the interior and foreign secretaries and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police briefed them about security measures in the capital city.

The diplomats were informed that the city’s sufficient security measures allowed visitors to move around freely. Additionally, they also received a briefing on the bombing probe in Islamabad last Friday.

According to reports the briefing was received with satisfaction by the diplomats.

The number of terror strikes in Pakistan has increased recently and on December 23 a blast occurred in Islamabad.
