Government increases levy on petroleum products as per IMF demand

The government has increased the levy on petroleum products in accordance with the conditions of the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

According to media sources in the Ministry of Finance, on Wednesday, the petroleum levy on high-speed diesel had been increased to Rs 45 and the petroleum levy on kerosene oil had been increased by Rs 7.77.

The petroleum levy on high-speed diesel had been increased by Rs 5 per liter.

The Ministry of Finance also added that a petroleum levy had been imposed on kerosene oil by Rs 8.2.

In addition, the petroleum levy on light diesel oil was also increased by 50 paise, while the petroleum levy on light diesel had been increased to Rs 27.87.

Media reports claimed that a levy of Rs 50 per liter will be levied on petroleum products.
