The federal government has filed a contempt of court petition in the Supreme Court of Pakistan against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

The federal interior ministry has filed the contempt of court petition on the issue of protest and long march.

In the petition filed, the federal government has taken the stance that Imran Khan has been announcing long march and protest towards Islamabad. It has also been stated that Imran Khan has been violating the orders of Supreme Court.

The petition has said that the Supreme Court had allowed Imran Khan to protest peacefully but he was once again making announcements to attack Islamabad.

In the petition filed by the federal government, it has been requested that the Supreme Court should order Imran Khan to ensure the implementation of its orders regarding the protest and sit-in.

PTI Chairman Imran Khan has announced a long march towards Islamabad but the date of the long march has not yet been announced by him.

Addressing a seminar at a university in Rawalpindi today, Imran Khan has again said that he would soon give a call for long march. He asked supporters to wait for his call and that he would be at the forefront.
