Govt to create commission to investigate alleged foreign conspiracy: Marriyum Aurangzeb

Information Minister says commission head will be someone everyone can trust

Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb publicized on Thursday that the government will create a commission to investigate the alleged foreign conspiracy that led to Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan’s removal from power via a no-confidence vote.

Speaking about the commission, the federal minister said that it will be impartial and will carry out an investigation autonomously.

“The head of the commission will be someone on whom no one will be able to point fingers at,” she added.

Aurangzeb said that the cabinet will agree on the terms of reference (TOR) of the commission in the next cabinet meeting. She added that all matters will be clarified after the report is released which will also be revealed to the nation.

Terming the alleged foreign conspiracy as a lie, Aurangzeb said the whole matter was raised to save the former PM’s wife Bushra Bibi’s close advisor Farhat Shehzadi, also known as Farah Khan.

“This is Gogi bachao tehreek (save Gogi movement),” she added.

The information minister went on to assail the previous PTI-led government, calling its leaders “economic terrorists”, and said that they looted the country for four years.

“The ruined the economy, unemployment and high inflation are the results of Imran Khan’s corruption,” she added.

Lauding the incumbent government’s efforts, Aurangzeb said that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has given relief to the people in just two weeks who had been beset by high inflation.
