Govt warns PTI of penalties if they create anarchy during long march

Interior minister says Imran Khan will face same fate if he keeps boosting supporters to disrespect members of other parties

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah on Saturday warned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf of grave consequences saying that if they were plotting to create anarchy during the long march, he will not allow them to step out of their houses.

Speaking to journalists outside Lahore district and sessions court, Sanaullah condemned the former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan for “inciting” and “misleading” the public against the current administration.

He warned that if Khan did not stop from using these tactics and keeps boosting his supporters to disrespect other parties’ members, he will face the same consequences as well. “You won’t be able to escape from it,” he asserted. He added they would instruct their workers to retaliate if PTI leadership did not stop from inciting violence.

“They will become human beings after a few thrashings,” he continued, adding that the PTI should give assurance to the government that their march would be peaceful, political and democratic.

Speaking on Sheikh Rasheed’s statement regarding PTI’s forthcoming long march turning “bloody”, Sanaullah demanded Rasheed take his statements back or he won’t be allowed to leave his house.

The interior minister recollected that Rasheed had said that jail was like his “susraal” and asked that then why had he applied for a pre-arrest bail in court. “Why are you scared of going to your sausral?” he questioned.
