In preparation for the forthcoming two-match Test series against Sri Lanka later this month, the Pakistan cricket team began their training camp on Tuesday in Karachi.

There are now 16 players at the camp, including wicketkeeper-batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed, bowler Naseem Shah, and captain Babar Azam. Tomorrow, Hasan Ali and Shan Masood will arrive at the camp.

Spinners Zahid Mahmood and Sajid Ali have also been asked to attend the camp despite not being part of the Test team.

Due to personal obligations, Mohammad Rizwan, the wicketkeeper-batsman, was unable to attend the camp’s opening session. However, he is anticipated to arrive later in the day.

Grant Bradburn, the head coach, is in charge of the camp. During practise, hitting instructor Andrew Puttick gave the hitters his full attention. Under the direction of bowling coach Morne Morkel, the bowlers put their abilities to the test. Aftab Khan, the fielding coach, also oversaw the players’ catching drills.

On Friday night, the cricketers will be permitted to leave the camp to travel to Islamabad to attend Haris Rauf’s wedding. On Saturday, they will reunite in Karachi before departing for Sri Lanka via Dubai.

Pakistan lands in Colombo on July 9.
