Hamayun Saeed bags role in Netflix’s hit series ‘The Crown’

Renowned Pakistani actor Hamayun Saeed has been casted as Dr. Hasnat Khan in the hit Netflix series ‘The Crown’, and is due to appear in Season Five of the show.

Dr. Khan is a British-Pakistani heart surgeon who was said to be romantically involved with the Princess Diana before she met Dodi Fayed. According to Khan’s statement to the Metropolitan Police, he was in a relationship with her from 1995-97 and broke up with her after she met Dodi Fayed on holiday. He said he had considered a relationship with the Princess but due to press involvement, it would have been unsustainable.

Saeed’s fellow actress and friend, Mahira Khan, shared the news on social media of the actor acquiring the role and congratulated him.

 

The 50-year-old veteran actor debuted in 1999 in the film ‘Inteha’ and has starred in numerous Pakistani television drama and films. He is best known for his role in adventure-comedy ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani’ and its sequel ‘Jawani Phir Nahi Aani 2’, even winning the ARY award for best actor for his work in the former film.

A new cast is set to play the acquainted characters in the upcoming season five of the hit Netflix series with Elizabeth Debicki playing Princess Diana, Dominica West playing Prince Charles, while Imelda Staunton will be cast as Queen Elizabeth the Second with Khalid Abdalla playing the role of Dodi Fayed.
