Hamza approaches LHC against possible transfer and posting of CS, IGP

He says that the election for the Punjab CM has been announced, and now, no transfer and posting can be made

PML-N leader Hamza Shehbaz has approached the Lahore High Court challenging the likely transfer of the Inspector General of Police and Chief Secretary.

Hamza Shehbaz who has moved a constitutional petition has made the Punjab government, Chief Secretary and IGP as respondents. He has said that there is no Punjab Chief Minister at the moment after Buzdar’s resignation was accepted.

The PML-N leader says that the government is going to transfer IGP and the Punjab Chief Secretary. He has submitted that transfer of officials when elections have been announced is totally against the law.

He has said that there is a provincial cabinet and nor the Punjab government, so in these circumstances, no transfer orders can be issued under the law. He asked the court to restrain the Punjab government from transferring Chief Secretary and the Inspector General of Police.
