The South Punjab Health Department established a six-person team to look into the remains that were found on Multan’s Nishtar Hospital’s roof.
On Thursday, the Health Department under the government of Punjab decided to form this team to probe the reason behind this incident.
Chief Minister’s Advisor Chaudhry Zaman Gujjar also visited the hospital and discovered numerous putrid bodies on the roof.
He strongly directed the health authorities to take action against the concerned staff and ordered the cremation of the abandoned bodies.
According to local media reports, students of Nishtar Medical University were using the bodies for medical research.
Media reports suggest that the victims had already been put to use in the experiment and had been left on the roof so that bones and heads could be removed for future medical applications.
Additional Chief Secretary retired Capt. Saqib Zafar issued a directive for Specialized Healthcare Secretary Muzamil Bashir to look into the incident.
Muzamil Bashir will serve as the committee’s convener which will submit its report in three days.
The Nishtar Medical University’s Prof. Dr. Masood Rauf Haraj, Dr. Shafiqullah Chaudhry, Senior Medical Officer Dr. Muhammad Arfan Arshad, and one representative from each of Multan’s deputy commissioner and city police officer are among the committee’s members.
