Henry Cavill confirms his return as Superman

Henry Cavill has officially announced his return to the DC Extended Universe as Superman in an Instagram video after considerable speculation.

The announcement follows Superman’s cameo appearance in Black Adam’s mid-credits scene.

Cavill said in the video, “I wanted to wait until the weekend was over before posting this because I wanted to give you all a chance to watch Black Adam, but now that plenty of you have, I wanted to make it official, I am back as Superman.”

Cavill’s appearance as Superman in Black Adam is his most recent since Zack Snyder’s Justice League in 2021.

The character also made a little appearance in 2019’s Shazam but Cavill wasn’t visible because it was only a fast shot of that recognizable red and blue suit.

Cavill has put on the superhero costumes once more in response to tremendous fan clamour and speculation.

He also wrote on Instagram “A very small taste of what’s to come, my friends… the dawn of hope renewed. Thank you for your patience, it will be rewarded.”

According to early media reports, based on his role in Black Adam and Dwayne Johnson’s desire to see Black Adam and Superman engage in combat, it appears that a significant super-powered confrontation is on the horizon.
