Israeli President Isaac Herzog has become the first Israeli PM to visit Bahrain following the normalization of relations in 2020.

Herzog met with King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and Crown Prince Sheikh Salman bin Hamad Al-khalifa.

As per Bahrain News Agency (BNA), both states’ leaders talked about regional security and measures to promote interaction between the leaders of the business sector in the two nations.

Herzog after meeting with Bahrain officials stated that Israel calls on more states in the region to join this partnership, strengthening the Middle East.

Herzog on Twitter also stated that he welcomed King Hamad’s vision of peace, friendship, and tolerance.

“The expanding circle of (Middle East) peace is highly important, especially amid threats to global and regional stability. In the face of hate, threats, and terror, there is one answer: alliances with friends.”

King Hamad regarding the meeting stated that Bahrain supports achieving a sustainable plan to guarantee legitimate Palestinian rights to develop sustainability in the region.

Following discussions pushed by the government of former US president Donald Trump, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, and Morocco became the first Arab nations to establish normal ties with Israel in 2020.
