High Court reserves decision on Azam Swati’s bail plea

Islamabad High Court has reserved its decision on PTI leader and senator Azam Swati Controversial tweet case.

Islamabad High Court (IHC) Chief Justice Amir Farooq heard the bail plea of Senator Azam Swati.

Azam Swati’s lawyer Babar Awan argued in the court that the High Courts of Sindh and Balochistan had dropped the cases against Azam Swati, he further added that I have never seen an FIR that does not mention the time and place of occurrence.

Chief Justice in reply asked Babar Awan whether he is concerned about the violation of SOPs to which Babar Awan said, “Yes! Of course”.

After hearing the arguments from the parties, Chief Justice Aamer Farooq of the Islamabad High Court (IHC) reserved his decision on Swati’s bail request.

Moreover, the son of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senator Azam Khan Swati withdrew the no-confidence motion against the Chief Justice of The Islamabad High Court.

“My father had written a letter, I want to read the letter with the permission of the court,” Swati’s son said, to which Justice Amir Farooq said that the letter is before the court, we want to settle this matter we will form a larger bench on it.

Justice Amir Farooq further said that the court usually does not see such letters.
