Hum Award shows to raise funds for flood affectees amid social media criticism

Atif Aslam, Farhan Saeed, and Mahira Khan will perform at the event

HUM Network has announced using the platform of HUM Awards Canada to raise funds for the flood affectees in Pakistan.

On Thursday, according to a statement from HUM TV Instagram page, apart from donating a significant portion of revenue from the sale of tickets, they also organized a fundraising gala on September 22, 2022.

The Gala was organized in collaboration with the artists who have travelled for the awards, Momina & Duraid Foundation, and IDRF.

Money raised from the gala night including the sale of tickets and auction of designers’ outfits and signed cricket bats and balls from former and current Pakistani cricket players will go to flood relief and rehabilitation efforts.

Prior to this statement by HUM Network, many social media users were criticizing the award show organizers and celebrities who went to attend and participate in the show while Pakistan is suffering from floods.

After rising criticism HUM Network came up with a statement clarifying that money raised from the show will be used to help flood victims.

Hum Award Show is taking place on September 24 at the First Ontario Centre in Toronto, Canada.
