I get criticized a lot for my accent: Kubra Khan

Actress Kubra Khan, known for popular serials such as ‘Sang-e-Marmar’, ‘Muqabil’ and ‘Hum Kahan Ke Sache The’ and the currently running ‘Sang-e-Mah’ and ‘Sinf-e-Aahan’, made it to a talk show this weekend on a local entertainment channel.

When asked by the interviewer regarding the aspect of her personality for which she received the most criticism being a public figure, Khan responded by saying “my accent”.

Although the majority knows Kubra Khan for being a British-Pakistani national, she is still not forgiven by many for the tincture of a western accent in her speech, which at times, makes her Urdu sound like English as well.

However, the actress said that she was working a lot on her accent and was trying her best to remove that label of an ‘angrez’ (Englishperson) that had become associated with her.

“Still, I think that a lot of people won’t be able to get over it even if I completely break away from my English accent. Once the majority associates you with something, it becomes very difficult to remove that tag from your personality,” said the actress.
