ICC announces ODI World Cup 2023 schedule, Pakistan to take on India on October 15

The ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 fixture schedule was released by the cricket body, and Pakistan will play arch-rival India on October 15 in Ahmedabad.

Pakistan will face qualifiers in its opening two games on October 6 and 12, respectively.

The 50-over World Cup final between England and New Zealand will be reenacted at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on October 5 to kick off the major tournament.

On October 6, Pakistan will play Qualifier 1 in Hyderabad to start their World Cup campaign. On October 8, hosts India will play Australia, the five-time defending World Cup champion, in Chennai.

The opening phase of the tournament featured a total of 10 teams, with the first eight having previously qualified via the Cricket World Cup Super League.

At the conclusion of the qualifying round, which is presently taking place in Zimbabwe, the final two spots will be determined. On July 9, the event will come to an end.

In a round-robin system, each team plays the other nine teams, with the top four teams moving on to the knockout stage and semifinals.

The cricket body did a separate tweet to announce one of the most awaited clashes of the year between Babar Azam-led Pakistan & Rohit Sharma-led India.
