‘Ice addict’ murders six of his in-laws in Lahore

Abid became enraged and opened fire, killing six while his mother in law sustained injuries

A tragic incident of killing of six persons due to indiscriminate firing took place in Shiraz Town and Mohalla Joyianwala of Green Town area of ​​Lahore on Friday.

Lahore Police took immediate action and arrested the accused, Abid. Senior Superintendent of Police Investigation Imran Kishore, SSP Operations Mustansir Feroze, Superintendent of Police Saddar Operations Hassan Javed Bhatti along with forensic teams and a heavy contingent of police rushed to the scene as soon as they received information and gathered evidence.

According to police’s initial investigation, the accused Abid became enraged due to some domestic issue and opened fire on his in-laws with automatic weapons. A total of seven people were shot by the accused. Six were killed with heavy injuries. The accused fled the scene in his car after shooting his in-laws.

A police team arrested Abid from College Road while responding to a 15 call. A rifle was recovered from the vehicle of the accused. Acting Capital City Police Officer Shahzada Sultan commended the police teams for the timely arrest of the accused.

According to the preliminary investigation, the accused was addicted to the drug known as ice. Investigation into the case is underway.
