The Islamabad police vowed to be “fully equipped” to offer the New Zealand cricket team “world-class” security for their upcoming tour to Pakistan.

The Black Caps will arrive in Pakistan on Monday for an upcoming white-ball series against the national team.

ICT police issued a statement on Twitter, “Islamabad Capital Police is fully equipped and shall provide end-to-end foolproof and World class security to the New Zealand Cricket Team during their forthcoming visit.”

It further quoted IGP Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan stating that “Islamabad Capital Police has provided the highest level of security during the visit of the English cricket team and PSL 8 flawlessly in 2022-23. ICTP shall be playing a key role in the provision of flawless security in collaboration with other stakeholders in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.”

Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) earlier on Wednesday confirmed that Rawalpindi, along with two T20Is and the first ODI, will also host the second ODI match against New Zealand.

The two matches will be played on 27 and 29 April instead of the earlier announced date 26 and 30 April, respectively.
